coming to an end

Hey all,
Blogging late here on the last night on the road. We finished our last worship service on the road and get to head home to our families tomorrow. Its been a joy blogging and I wish more could have been done to keep you updated with pics, but God had other plans for me on this trip. Im ready to be home like I know many of us are, but really only for the comforts of my own bed and shower (and no chicken!) I adore this group and couldn’t have wish for a better trip, but being this close to this many different personalties wears on you after so long. I can’t wait to be home and share all the amazing experiences with my family and friends and be able to share our service with you and all the hard work we’ve accomplished in the last two weeks. Lives have been changed and touched forever and it will be a summer these 58 people and countless others will never forget. Many of us will come back home Broken and Poured Out.

with much love through sleepy eyes,
Heather

Eating Chicken

I just have a little bit of scripture that I have been thinking and meditating about all this trip.

15. we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

-Hebrews 4.15-16

How this has anything to do with chicken I am not sure, but chicken has definitely become the Broken & Poured Out theme food.

In daily repentence,

Anthony Albert

from the road

Hey everyone! So we’re on our way to Kentucky today. We stayed the night in Ohio last night and had an amazing worship service with its share of glitches. Tunnel cut out once again due to a popped breaker but was resolved quickly and we moved on. We were at Christina’s previous church so it was cool to see some of her youth group there. It was the longest day on the road for the trip, so we were all more than ready to get off the bus. We got up extremely early in order to leave the Bronx in a timely manner so we had some time on our hands. We did get some sleep, after God worked in alot of us through Hot Seat. We give praise that everyone who was sick tuesday feels much better now and that it didn’t rain while we were worshipping in the park in the Bronx. God continues to bless us on this trip and I believe will continue to have more in store for us as we reach forward on our last few days before returning home. Love you all back home and can’t wait to see you Saturday and share with you Sunday! Heather

Word from Daric

Hey everyone this is Daric!

Yesterday, (June 20th) we were scheduled to go climb a mountain.  In a pure act of God it rained and we rerouted.  Instead, we went to a beautiful beach in Portland, Maine.  On this beach was a lighthouse.  It was a rocky beach by the way.  Anyway, it was pure white and the light was spinning in the tower.  We didn’t get to go in it.  Dick had told us earlier that it was built in George Washington’s presidency.   I looked out to see and in the distance I saw an older lighthouse made of stone.  I climbed some rocks and took a bible.  We read Psalm 50:1-2.  The ocean was so beautiful.  the waves came in and they were beautiful as they crashed against the rocks.  I thought and prayed and God spoke to me up there.  The lighthouse out there that was built in his presidency was made of stone and it was still standing.  I can only hope that my faith will be as strong as that stone lighthouse and stand forever against those waves of life for eternity.

A restful day

Hey everyone!!! I apologize for not getting stuff posted but things have just been crazy this trip. We’re at the Bronx currently and I think we’ll really excited today. Our first performance was cancelled so we finally get a day to just sleep and lull around. Get us ready for the last leg of the trip. We had an amazing day traveling through Times Square and seeing the Statue of Liberty yesterday and have some great memories to share once we get back. However we did have a slight problem with the trailer and are now having to rent a truck to carry our equipment around. All part of being flexible and we’re grateful Kevin and Kip stayed safe through the whole ordeal. Since we have no plans til later this afternoon, I plan on getting stuff updated so you can see. We’ll have a better plan next year, I just didn’t expect how much God was going to put on my heart this year. Blessings to all and can’t wait to see you when we arrive home!!! Heather

Greetings from the road

As we sit here and type this we are leaving the amazing state of Rhode Island, small but mighty!  We had an Amazing time of worship at Middletown Baptist Church, and the theme of small yet mighty rings true for this church.  Their hospitality was such a blessing.  They fed us and shared so much of themselves with us.  Pastor Tim was so wonderful, we know you’ve been praying for us and your prayers are felt. We hope your sanctuary survived all the jumping! J When we arrived the church was waiting and cheering for us, they really wanted us to be there.  John 4:23-24 says Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in Spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father sees.  God is Spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit in truth.   We feel like the worship service was an example of this verse, spirit led.  God is so good! He will use the weak (small) to lead the strong.

We had an opportunity to spend a little time at the beach and though the water as freezing, our kids were laughing, and jumping and splashing! Yes, we were the only ones on the beach that day! We did see a few surfers down the road but they were so much smarter, wearing wet suits.  I am sure the frostbite has thawed  by now.

Today we are headed to New York City!  Our first day of freedom and we were up at 4:15 am, yes that’s right am!  You know a day of fun and freedom for most people doesn’t normally start that early but hey when your crazy and work with youth that’s how it goes!  We have a busy day of sightseeing: Train to Grand Central Station, Statue of Liberty, Time Square and shopping! We couldn’t find a train car big enough for the van and trailer so Kip and Kevin sacrificed and are driving into NYC.  Gary will finally get to ride in silence as we will be on the train and is driving the bus in alone.

We feel so blessed to be a part of this journey, sharing and serving with some amazing students, and fabulous churches along the way. Thank You for your prayers, we feel them and ask that you continue to pray.  We can’t wait to get home and share all of our wonderful stories and experiences with you!  Have a Beautiful Day!

Christina & Stefanie

Shoutout from Katie

Hi to everyone at home! This trip has been amazing so far and I am so blessed to be a part of this family. Broken and Poured Out has come so far with the grace of God helping us the whole way. Some of my favorite memories so far are visiting the St. Louis Gateway Arch.  It was HUGE!! I also loved Boston :] But the best part so far has been visiting the beach. Even though it was freezing cold, it was a great experience. I can’t wait to be home and to tell everyone about it!! Hi Mom!! Hi Kristen!! Can’t wait to see you!

What a forgiving God!!!

Wow! I am so thankful that my God is forgiving and has so much grace. Last night God did everything possible to tell me that I am worth all of his grace. He makes me pure and white as snow all over again and every time I ask. With all the help from some friends that are now amazing best friends I have the courage to get a new purity ring, they have prayed for me and I’m so thankful. All these new things are going on; my life is somewhat of a mess but now all I feel is peace. I’m learning to forgive myself for my mistakes and my regrets. I know when I get home there will be a major challenge but with the help from my loving father I can do it all. I can’t wait to come home and see my family and show the world that no matter what you do the Lord forgives. I am alive and new in Christ! I have never felt better and closer to God, and my amazing new friends and my wonderful old ones. Oh and mommy! I can’t wait to see you and talk to you, you too Mema. I love you  all very much and keep praying. I know we are impacting people’s lives.
